Well, I went onto the internet looking for technical assistance and suggestions and found nothing but horror stories and amazingly complex 'solutions'. Very unsatisfactory. So I decided that if the thing were merely jammed perhaps what it might need was a shock to unjam it. Since I did not much care if it ever worked or not I basically boxed its ears by giving it one solid whack on the side of the unit. Worked like a charm!

On a number of occasions when playing a CD then changing to the next CD, the player wouldnt respond and would stop working. I couldnt even eject the disks. However, if I left the car overnight and tried the CD player the next day it would work fine again. I found that the only way to get around this problem would be to only leave 1 CD in the player then when I wanted to listed to another CD, I would eject the CD and insert the CD I wanted to listen to. I have been doing this for a few months until now.
Going into peugeot next week. Will let you know what happens if anything! I was thinking of buying another but at £170 & lots of other people having the same problem Ill try & get it fixed. Hi guys, i have a peuget 307 2002 model with the 5 stacker cd player. About two weeks ago i put in a few burnt cd's, all was well until today when it stopped playing!(sound stopped) the screen saids its still playing( by counting the seconds on each song) but no sound comes out.

Bradley, I just purchased a Fiat with the same CD changer. I didn't order it, need it or want it but I had to buy the car it was already installed in 'as is' so my new car has a 'pre-filled' glove compartment. The car and the changer were both brand new and the CD changer was 'factory installed'. It came with a manual that contained almost no useful information such as: how does one eject a CD from the unit?
I have had two cars with this unit, both Peugot 307SW and both have had a problem. The first car had intermittent problems which i never could resolve, my most recent one stopped about three months ago. Today i decided to do something about it. So i looked on the web and found this trail. I removed the CD changer and unplugged it from the cables then took it into the house and, on the basis that it was an intemittant fault assumed a good bashing might dislodge something, so gave it a good basking with the handle of a screw driver onall sides.

Hi, I know this is an old post, but I'll reply, so that other readers may get the benefit of my answer. 2004 was the year that Peugeot/Citroen changed from VAN bus to CAN bus wiring on their stereo's.

However, If your car is later 2004 onwards you will need the IDC-A04 Blaupunkt changer which will plug in and power up, but will not work properly untill you go to a peugeot dealer and they hook up some diagnostic software to tell the car a changer has been added. You will get better reliability with the remote changers and they will hold more CDs. But you will have to find a place in your trunk to mount it. Also, if you remove your existing CD changer from your dash you have have to fill in the hole with something. I bought one from ebay and had it put in by my local garage and it has been working well for a week but today I put in a cd that i burnt myself and it said it was playing but no sound and the same the radio is fine. I also can not get the cd's back out. The numbers from 1-5 are all flashing, so I think that it has broken again. Dont fancy going to a peugeot garage as it will cost a lot of money.
